The leopard gecko, bearded agama, chameleon or young hognose snake need regular access to live or fresh insects. The health, condition and lifespan of your reptile depend on the quality of the feeder.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why are insects important?<\/h2>\n\n<p>Insects provide:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Protein<\/strong> \u2013 the building block of muscles, crucial for growth<\/li><li><strong>Chitin<\/strong> \u2013 supports the digestive system<\/li><li><strong>Fats<\/strong> \u2013 a source of energy (but harmful in excess)<\/li><li><strong>Micro and macroelements<\/strong> \u2013 with proper supplementation<\/li><\/ul>\n\n<p>Too monotonous a diet leads to deficiencies, apathy, poor molting, bone deformities and neurological problems.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Types of feed insects and their properties<\/h2>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Crickets \u2013 the basis of the insectivorous diet<\/h3>\n\n<p>Crickets are the most popular food for reptiles.
